Our family first started Battle Conquer Gym in order to open up a new part of Thailand, untouched by tourism, where guests from all over the world could join us to experience a traditional Thai way of life, enjoy the rich countryside deep in the heart of Thailand rather than it’s popular coastlines, all while they worked on their health, fitness, martial art skills or their wellness goals.
We’re a brother and sister team with over 40 years experience in the health and fitness industry, Sarah is a specialist personal trainer, nutritionist, Pilates teacher, yoga and meditation teacher, Joseph is a body builder, coach, and MMA fighter. It was our dream to create a health and fitness camp that combined our passions as well as offering guests a supportive way to reach their health goals, taking away the pressure of diets, calorie counting and working out.
We teamed up with the Keawma family who have been involved in fighting, training, and promoting Muay Thai for decades. Elder Pau has trained from the age of 4 and coached many fighters to compete at all levels from local carnivals to the big stages in Bangkok, his family have lived in this area for more than 100 years and are passionate about traditional Muay Thai.
The name of the gym itself comes from the Thai saying Phichit Suk, said to fighters for good luck and translating to “battle conquer.”
Daughter Noi has worked in hospitality for many years, her passion lies in making people feel welcomed and sharing her love for her family’s history, surrounding beauty spots, and of course their wholesome food.
Our journey started with just seven lodges at our family home, we now have 40! We are proud to say that we have been awarded the 2022 Tripadvisor Traveller’s Choice Award for our consistently great reviews from guests and are ranked in the top 10% of all properties on their website.
That said, our retreat would never be where it is without our wonderful guests. We will continue to strive to be the best health and wellness retreat of it’s kind, always improving what we offer as we help those looking to improve themselves.
